The story of Red Envelope Day.
In 2008, after more than twenty years of supporting the pro-life cause, a faithful man inspired the nation for Life. In the midst of prayer one morning, his mind turned to the defense of the unborn. His ears were open and his heart was inclined.

Following a divine urging, this man sent a little over one hundred emails to friends and other pro-life advocates, offering a new-found inspiration and symbol in the defense of the preborn. He envisioned that a powerful message could be delivered to our nation's political leadership with a simple, empty red envelope bearing this testimony:

“This envelope represents one child who died in abortion.
It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world.
Responsibility begins with conception.”

Nearly 2.3 million red envelopes...
By the end of March 2009, millions of red envelopes bearing these powerful words were delivered to the White House. The White House Post Office would refer to it as a "sea of red". This simple, singular act by a man who had inclined his ears to God's calling, had multiplied itself into a resounding call to our country's leadership... the preborn must be protected.

Many marveled at the result. Rightly so.

Yet, as successful as the Red Envelope Campaign of 2009 was, there was one failure. While millions of red envelopes, sent by hundreds of thousands had found their mark, the campaign was largely ignored by both the White House and the media at large. This was regrettable. Some even declared the campaign was over and "played out".

Red Envelope Day™ 2010.
In the summer of 2009, a number of us who had been involved with or watched the first Red Envelope Day campaign, came together to consider the campaign again. We had different skills and life experiences but a singular conviction in common... protection of the preborn.

We saw in the first Red Envelope Day an opportunity to sow even more good seed into the hearts and souls of our nation and our leaders. And so, we pledged to build on that first success and to be good stewards of that first inspiration in 2008.

We also saw the new campaign as a means to directly support the individuals and organizations on the front lines of the fight for Life.

The goals of Red Envelope Day™ 2010 were both simple and challenging...
First, we would seek to make even more people aware of the campaign. Then we would work to make it even easier to deliver the message in the defense of the preborn to our political leadership.

And finally, we would do our best to make sure that the message of Red Envelope Day™ could not be ignored by the media, as it had been in 2009. Despite so-called abortion news "fatigue" we would do our best to once again put abortion on the national conscience. Accordingly, we developed a media plan for this year's campaign.

In 2010, a new sense of urgency...
By mid-summer 2009 it also became clear that this year's Red Envelope Day™ campaign was even more crucial than we had imagined. With Congresses' recent push of Health Reform legislation (H.R. 3200) that contains far-reaching, pro-abortion provisions the urgency for a large-scale, highly visible campaign was all that much more critical.

As we now launch the new Red Envelope Day campaign, the Senate and President Obama are now looking to reverse the language of the House's STUPAK which prohibits tax-payer funded abortion. They are determained...we must show them that they are wrong.

An expansion of the abortion holocaust is simply not acceptable.
If ever there was a time for prayer, it is now. If ever there was a time for action, it is now.

And now, sending your message to Washington DC could not be easier, less expensive and more effective.

Here is how...
Simply go to the "Send Mail" tab. From there you can direct your Red Envelope Day™ cards to your choice of political leaders and officials... either individually or in the groups that we have identified for maximum effect.

Please note that this year, we have also identified the media outlets and Supreme Court Justices who have been openly hostile or indifferent to the plight of the preborn. Please consider sending  the specially tailored Red Envelope Day™ message that we have designed for them. You can see a sample of those special cards here.

We do it all...
After you place your order, we will then take care of ALL of the details of addressing, printing and mailing your Red Envelope Day™ cards for you to be delivered by March 31st, 2010.

Special cards to the media (and the call for them to cover the campaign) will be mailed in the 6-8 week period before March 31st, 2010.

Let our cards be their voice...
Our intention is to flood the offices of the President, key government officials and the news media with the very clear message... that as a Nation, we must protect the innocent and that equal rights must be extended to all. The preborn are no exception!

And best of all...
The Red Envelope Day Team is firmly committed to the cause and gifting to those on the front lines.

Every card that is sent from this site is its own fundraising machine and provides for direct, financial assistance to those organizations who are on the front lines of the fight to protect the preborn. You can learn more about our giving plan by visiting the "RED Gives" tab.

Let our cards be their voice... go to the "Send Mail" tab and be heard, now!

Violence and the abuse of women is a scourge both in and outside the womb. Now imagine the trauma of abortion in the midst of the shame of routine and coerced sexual exploitation.

The fact is that that hundreds of thousands of young women are used and abused every day by pimps, human traffickers and sexual abusers (so-called "Johns"). It is a life most did not choose and painfully, a huge percentage of these young women have had or will be forced into abortions.

For several years now, certain organizers of the Red Envelope Day™ 2010 campaign have also been on the front lines of the fight against human trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of these young women.

In 2009, the battlefield in this fight against abuse is on the Internet, which has replaced the street corner and the Stop Online Exploitation campaign is taking a stand.

From the "Craigslist killer" case to the recent revelations about Acorn officials facilitating and supporting child-trafficking and prostitution, this is a vicious and ugly battle. Those who fight it can also use your support and prayer.

If you would like to learn more about our challenge to the web sites that facilitate sexual exploitation and prostitution, then please visit www.stoponlineexploitation.org.
